Warranty Information

At Howard Miller Memorial, we want you to feel confident in your purchase and cared for long after it arrives. If something does not seem right, our team is here to help.

Our 15-Year Limited Warranty

Every Howard Miller Memorial urn is backed for 15 years against defects in materials and workmanship. If something is wrong with it, we make it right.

Warranty Period

This limited warranty runs for 15 years from the date of delivery.

Who Is Covered

The warranty follows the urn, not the person. Anyone who owns it is covered, as long as they can provide proof of purchase from howardmillermemorial.com. If the urn was a gift or has been passed to you, the original order number is all we need.

What This Warranty Covers

Howard Miller Memorial warrants each urn against defects in materials and workmanship, including:

  • cracking, splitting, or separation of joints under normal indoor conditions,
  • failure of hinges, closures, threaded lids, and base hardware,
  • finish failure such as peeling, bubbling, or delamination that is not the result of wear or exposure.

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

  • normal wear, minor scratches, and handling marks,
  • natural variation in wood grain, stone veining, and color, which are characteristics of the material and not defects,
  • damage from dropping, misuse, improper cleaning products, or attempted repair or refinishing,
  • damage from outdoor placement, burial, direct sunlight, moisture, or extreme temperature,
  • engraving content, spelling, or layout that matched the proof approved by the customer,
  • damage in transit, which is handled under our Delivery Promise and is not a warranty claim,
  • units without proof of purchase from howardmillermemorial.com.

Clock Movements

On clock urns, the quartz movement is covered for 2 years from the date of delivery. Within that period we supply a replacement movement at no charge; installation is the owner's responsibility. Replacement of the movement is the only remedy under this part of the warranty, and it does not extend to repair, refund, or replacement of the urn itself. Batteries are not covered. After 2 years, replacement movements are available for purchase.

The 15-year coverage continues to apply to the urn, its case, finish, and hardware for the full term regardless of movement age.

What We Do

If a covered defect is confirmed, we will, at our option:

  • repair the urn,
  • replace it with the same model, or
  • if the model is no longer available, replace it with a comparable one.

If none of those is possible, we refund the purchase price.

If the Urn Is in Use

We will never ask you to send back an urn that holds a loved one's remains. Photographs are enough. We ship the replacement first, and the original is yours to keep or dispose of as you choose.

How to Make a Claim

Email hello@howardmillermemorial.com or call 833-933-0054 with:

  • your order number,
  • photographs of the issue,
  • a brief description of what happened.

We respond within 2 business days. Please contact us before returning anything; in most cases a replacement part, a repair, or a replacement urn can be arranged without a return.

Purchased Somewhere Other Than Our Website

If you bought your urn from a retailer, marketplace, or funeral home, that seller's warranty and return terms apply and you should contact them first. We cannot override another seller's policy. Call us anyway at 833-933-0054 and we will help where we can, including supplying parts.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, this limited warranty is the only express warranty provided for our products. Howard Miller Memorial is not responsible for incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of a product, including damage to other property or loss caused by product unavailability. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Your Rights Under State Law

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
